Campaign to raise professional and public awareness of correct antibiotic use underway
European Antibiotic Awareness Day takes place on the 18th November 2015 and will be marked with an all day event at the Royal College of Physicians to raise awareness amongst health professionals about using antibiotics wisely. The campaign to raise public awareness on the correct use of antibiotics is also ongoing.
Shigellosis among men who have sex with men in Ireland
Since the end of September, 2015, there have been 10 confirmed cases of shigella infection notified in the greater Dublin area among people who have not travelled to Shigella spp.-endemic countries, and of these 9 are men who have sex with men (MSM).
